Update on Friday’s cyber attack

NHS Southend CCG and NHS Castle Point and Rochford CCG have been working together, along with partners across the local health system, to manage the risks to NHS systems caused by Friday’s cyber-attack.

As a result of the swift action taken on Friday and over the weekend, the impact the attack had on local systems has been minimal and all GP practices across Castle Point, Rochford and Southend remained operational with only a few minor issues reported from some practices.

Our incident team continues to work across the system to offer support and advice as required.

Advice for patients

If you have a hospital appointment you should still attend unless you are contacted and told not to.

GP surgeries are open as usual. If you have an appointment you should still attend unless contacted by your surgery and told not to.

People should continue to use the NHS wisely.  Remember patients can seek help and advice from a range of other sources, such as pharmacies.

Bearing in mind the impact of the global cyber attack we would urge people to be patient with staff who may still be dealing with disruption.
